Habitat for Humanity Lakeside builds year-round, and volunteers are welcome to help with new construction or repair projects, either as an individual or in a group. The construction day runs from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and some Saturdays. The day starts with a safety meeting, overview of the project/family, and instructions on the task for the day. No construction experience is necessary for any role. We are willing to teach and work with all levels and abilities of volunteers and look forward to working with you!

Individual/Group Build daysHabitat for Humanity Lakeside builds year-round, and individual volunteers or groups are welcome to help with new construction or repair projects. Our build days are typically on weekdays and some Saturdays.
Lot MaintenanceDo you enjoy yard work or shoveling? We are looking for individuals, youth groups or families to adopt one of our vacant lots. When you adopt a lot, we ask you to help maintain the lot by checking in once per month to pick up any garbage or debris and to help with shoveling the sidewalk when it snows in the winter months and raking the lawn once in the spring and once in the fall. You can choose to adopt a lot for a full year or a specific season. You can also choose to be put on a contact list to help out when needed. We'll simply call or email you when we're running short on volunteers and need work done.

Crew LeaderA Crew Leader is willing to arrive early (8:00 a.m.) to learn the task for the day from our Construction Manager and then lead/teach a small group of other volunteers during the day. We are willing to teach you new skills if you are willing to lead/teach others. This position requires orientation and training.
*We are in particular need of crew leaders who are willing to volunteer on a repeat basis. photographerWe are seeking individuals who have experience and access to a camera to come out to take photos on our build sites. We want to capture group photos, individuals in action and the progress on our homes and repairs. Volunteers can come out during active construction hours once, twice or three times per week. Habitat will provide a zip drive for you to upload/return the photos on.
