Habitat for Humanity Lakeside welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals and groups of all skills and abilities in our ReStore. We have a variety of opportunities for those looking to volunteer with us and no experience is necessary. Some of our opportunities do have age restrictions. Details on all of our opportunities are outlined below.

More details on restore volunteer opportunities
Our ReStore is open Wednesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and volunteers are welcome during all of these hours. On Tuesdays, we have opportunities for group projects between 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. while the store is closed. Most of our volunteer opportunities while the ReStore is open are geared towards individuals, provide flexibility and are available in 2-hour shifts or more. As an individual, you'll work with our ReStore associates in a retail-based setting that provides home improvement solutions at a reduced price to the community. Profits from our ReStore fund our housing programs which operate throughout Sheboygan County.
CashierCashiers operate the register and greet customers as they enter the store. They also respond to customer questions. Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude are a must for this position.
Donation Pick-up assistantThe Donation Pick-up Assistant rides as a passenger with our Donations Ambassador in the ReStore box truck. They assist with loading and unloading items from residential homes and commercial businesses that schedule donation pick-ups. This volunteer might also help in our receiving area where donation drop-offs are accepted. A full-day is required with this position in order to complete a round trip from and back to the ReStore (approximately 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays).

Customer Services AssistantCustomer Service Assistants receive and respond to telephone and in-person customer or donor inquiries to the best of their ability in accordance with ReStore practices and policies.
Metal Recycling TechRecycling technicians salvage metal materials from various items that are unsellable. Recycling techs are also needed for testing incoming donations such as light fixtures and power tools.

Sales Floor Assistant
Sales Floor Assistants price and stock donated items, answer questions on the sales floor, and ensure aisles are kept safe and presentable. This volunteer may also help in our receiving area where donation drop-offs are accepted.
